Petersfield District Shooting Competition

Liphook Scout Rifle Club organised and ran the Petersfield District Shooting Competition. 21 competitors from all over the district took part in competitions in the 3 disciplines of 6 yard air rifle, 10 metre air rifle, and 6 yard air pistol, firing approximately 800 pellets at 160 target cards.

Given Liphook's recent achievements it was no surprise that we featured very strongly in the results, but Petersfield and Sheet scouts still managed 6 podiums and can proudly boast that they have left us no room for complacency. Robert Alderman achieved a very commendable hat-trick taking first place in his age group in all 3 disciplines. The adults were soundly beaten by the youngsters, only holding their own in the pistol discipline - Matt Carrig and Robert Alderman took the shields for highest score of the day in 6 yard and 10 metre air rifle respectively, in each case about 10 points clear of the nearest adult! Matt and Robert were 'neck and neck' in the pistol with with Matt taking the shield for highest (youngster's) score by dint of the tiebreak. Full results are available here. We are all set up now for our next event, the HSRC Field Shoot on June 20th, if you haven't entered yet do it now!
